The Greater Kansas City Pipe Club commissioned Ron to create 25 of these pipes for their Pipe of the Year in 2005.
The members were thrilled with the results and often bring them to club meetings to enjoy.

"I enjoy collecting unique pieces. This long shanked Dublin, acquired from Ron Fairchild at the St. Louis Show in 2004, immediately became one of my favorites. Though I have a number of pipes in a display case, this one has remained on my smoking table for regular enjoyment. Yes, I enjoy photography too, and this is one of my favorite pipe pictures as well. Thanks, Ron.

I Had The Good Fortune To Buy One Of Ron's Pipes The First Time I Met Him 3-4 Years Ago. I Now Have 6! I Like Their Subtle Shapes (slightly Bent Stems), Light Weight And They Are All Great Smokers. Can't Beat'em!

" I own a couple of Ron Fairchild pipes and they smoke like a dream. I first met Ron at the Kansas City Pipe Show back in 2003. He is a terrific gentleman and of course, makes some really great smoking pipes. He lives in Houston but makes the trip to Waco (about a 2-1/2 hour drive each way) almost every month to attend our Waco Pipe Club Meetings. He has sold a bunch of his pipes to our club members and sometimes I think we ought to change our name to the Fairchild Pipe Club because it seems each month everyone is smoking their Fairchild. LOL!"

" I like Canadians, and have two of Ron's pipes; was lucky enough to visit his workshop and select what I wanted, and see how he crafts his pipes. He is clearly a meticulous craftsman who knows how fine pipes are made, and has visited and learned from some of the best. The weight and balance are superb, and his smooth finish is particularly fine. The finish on his pipes are all superb; obviously handcrafted. Feels good in the hand, feels good in the mouth, breaks-in well. As a pipe smoker of 32 years, I believe that you could not go wrong with one of Ron's pipes!"

"Ron's pipes are very light in weight and fantastic smokes. Most of his pipes are classic English shapes or variations thereof. His interpretations of the classic Dublin are my favorite. His wax only finished smooth pipes are beautiful, and I would put his natural carved finish up against the Castello Natural Virgin and the Savinelli Corallo. If you would like to try a great smoking pipe from a long time American carver, I highly recommend you try one of Ron's pipes."

I received one of your pipes from The Pipe Rack today and must tell you, excellent pipe! The nomenclature is marked 04 Ron Fairchild. I just smoked a bowl of Cornell & Diehl's bulk Engine 99 and wow! great smoking pipe! This pipe reminds me of my Michael Linder pipes, exellent design and quality. I have tried to keep a collection of American pipe makers, but seems hard to find quality such as yours as well as Lindner, Jim Cook, Roush, and Jody Davis. My collection of pipes are narrowed down to Lindner, Fairchild, Jim Cook, Roush,Jody Davis, Ashton, and Dunhill. I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with your Craftsmanship and dedication to making a quality product, an American made product that is impeccable in every regard. |

Over the course of the last several years, I have had several pipes made to my personal specifications by many pipemakers.Prices have varied substantially across the lot and not always a reflection of the skill of the pipemaker or the quality of the pipe. Many have been excellent, others good and some no better than average.
As I have smoked these same pipes over the course of time, I found one particular pipemaker who/s pipes represent (to me) the best combination of quality smoking characteristics and price above all others... that individual is Ron Fairchild, Fairchild Pipes.
I have come to enjoy a particular Pencil Shank Dublin that Ron has made for me over and above any other pipes, they are extremely light, well made and excellent. I am not affiliated with Fairchild Pipes in any fashion other than a pipe smoker of some 35 plus years who has finally come to terms with his favored pipe shape (and maker) of choice. Thanks Ron

I bought a Fairchild Dublin and I liked it enough to buy one of his lovats. Rons pipes are beautifully made using the highest quality briar. The stem shank connection is flush and as good as you would want. The pipes are light in wieght and perfectly balanced.Stems are ebonite and extremely comfortable. The Dublin has a slightly bent stem that is so comfortable the pipe seems wieghtless. Both of the pipes are stained in a light tan that colors very nicely and makes the grain jump out at you.
Smoking quality is superb. These pipes rank amoung the best smokers I have ever owned, and that is a lot of pipes over many years and include some of the most highly regarded pipe makes. I don't get anything for saying kind words abount Fairchild pipes, but if he keeps making them I can keep buying them so I do have a purpose. Also, I think you will really like these pipes and they are reasonably priced. Thanks Ron
